Week #5: 25 miles
Ever since I switched training plans, I stopped tracking my weeks so I'm just going to jump right in at week #5.
Tuesday: 4 miles
Just an easy four miles at a 9:13 pace.
Thursday: 0
We had a slight family miscommunication on schedules and unfortunately my run got bumped.
Friday: 5 miles
Hilly and humid five miles. This course is still not getting easier but at least it's a change of course.
Sunday: 16
Finally over the 15 mile hump and starting my mileage climb! I'm not going to lie, it was tough. After my shower, I stretched really well and did the foam roller. I tried to keep busy the rest of the day just to keep my legs in motion but by 2 o'clock I was wiped out. That run kicked my butt and I am sitting at my desk now ready to fall asleep. I'm very nervous about the 18-miler up next and the 20-miler that follows. I might need to bring my iPod to distract me during those last few miles, they get pretty ugly.
Scheduled PT session this morning at 7:30 (which did not help my exhaustion) and I got a lot of good information on why and how my shoulder started to act up. I have a slew of exercises and stretches to practice at home so hopefully I will correct my poor posture which will in turn alleviate any shoulder injuries in the future.
